This time the Commercial Game of the Month goes to the original Rick Dangerous from Core Design from 1989
Rick Dangerous is a pretty decent platformer, which is kinda based on Indiana Jones, where you goto the Amazon Jungle to search for the lost Goolu Tribe

TICK! TICK! TICK! TICK! BOOM! as the Bomb goes, and if Rick is standing near it, You get a rather neat Rick coming towards the camera effect, always a laugh seeing that happen
You start on your journey in a cave, where you must quickly run right to avoid a Boulder, you drop down and then run left, and finally you drop down again, and walk right into the next part of the Game
You have brought along your Pistol and some Dynamite, which are limited, so do not use willy-nilly, and also a Stick, which can freeze enemies in position for a short time
You will come across enemies, some of which follow a set path, and some which will target to your position, so it is essential to dispatch them quickly or you will die on touch
There are also levels set inside a Pyramid (I have to say these are my favourite levels out of the Game), and then into a Castle to defeat the enemies and capture the Allied Soldiers, who then tell you that there is a plot to attack London
There are plenty of Traps to avoid on your journey, such as Spikes, Deep Pits (some of which are unescapable and usually have Spikes to kill you on contact), some even hidden which will only appear when Rick is near
The Sequel to this Game is Rick Dangerous II which I am gonna review Next Month (Because Rick is awesome, and it is his only Amiga sequel sadly
