Turrican II [D]

Todays Commercial Game of the Month goes to Turrican 2 by Rainbow Arts from 1991

This Game is a Great Shoot-Em-Up, where you don a Metal Suit, and tackle aliens head on using your Shooter

You start off with a basic laser gun, which you can take out most enemies with not much bother, most of the levels are platform based, and this short demo has you battling with collapsing ledges, moving balls, some of which respawn, and the Graphics and Sound are great

Gun upgrades are dotted around on the level, which can be shot to reveal various power-ups, extra lives, fireballs

This is similar to R-Type, except you are on the ground, rather than inside a flying ship, and also note there is No Title Screen here, it loads into the Demo immediately, so you need to be ready for some great blasting action

Certainly when I got to play this Demo, I enjoyed the taster I got, and bought the Full Game, where there are 5 levels to tackle, and plenty of weapons to pickup and use

This is also available for the CD32 and there is even an AGA version of it too!
