I am now working through The Assassins Disks, and many of those Games will not run correctly under Kickstart 2/3 so they will need to be included on the Kickstart 1.3-side of the Games Collection
These will be split into sections, as there were quite a lot of them, around 260+ disks stuffed full of Public Domain Games, I will do them in disk order (so from Disk 1, 2, 3, and so on, and will put them in sections of 50, for example [ASI001-050] [ASI 051-100] [ASI 101-150] and so on
At least it will beef up the KS1.3 side a bit with a few more Games, most of these stubborn Games will crash, or fail under KS3.1, and some have Speed Issues (ie. run too fast) since the Amiga 1200 had a faster CPU and some of these older Games were not coded to slow down on faster systems
Like with the old PC DOS Games for example, there are 2 software products available which Slow down the Games to a playable speed, such as Mo’Slo and SlowDOS, both of these products “steal cpu cycles” so the Games run under DOSbox at a playable speed
Sadly the Amiga has no such software that I personally know of, so this means over time there will be more Games added to the Kickstart 1.3 side of the Games Collection
For example Cave Runner (PD) does not run correctly under Kickstart 2/3 but there was a WHDLoad Install created which allows it to run, and I added both versions to the Games Collection, so it exists in both the KS1.3 (as Original Files) and KS3.1 side (as WHDLoad Version) but note the WHDLoad Version the Cheat Code does not work on Level 2 (SUB B BOYS) but does work in the Original KS1.3 Version
If anyone knows of a “CPU Cycles Stealer” software for the Amiga, then please could you let me know, as currently I do not know of any software available which could slow Games down under the Later KS3.1 OS to make them playable (the ones which run too fast anyway)
As so far as the Graphical Glitched Games they will have to remain under Kickstart 1.3 since there is no easy fix for such Games, unless say, WHDLoad Installs were created for each Game, sadly my coding skills are not good enough to do this myself
