     F1 LICENCEWARE GAMES
   """"""""""""""""""""""""

These Games were originally distributed and sold under the "F1 Licenceware"
(F1LW) branding where users would pay to buy these Games for a small fee

This distribution has been made possible, by both Andy Kellett and Phil Ruston
so a BIG MEGA THANKYOU to both of you, for allowing me to distribute these
Games to the Public, It is very much appreciated, if ya ever "up north" in
the UK, lemme buy you a pint or 9 sometime eh? :)

Andy Kellett gave me permission on 2022-08-16 and wrote: "I dont have any
issues with you distributing the original games for non-profit if you have
not been successful in reaching out to the original authors. Thanks"

Phil Ruston gave me permission on 2023-02-24 to release the following Games
   Operation Firestorm(F1), Wibble World Giddy(PD), Giddy 2(F1) and Aquanaut(F1)

Please also note the following points:

   * The passage of time has made it extremely difficult to contact many
of the Game Developers to ask for direct permission, while I have had
some luck in contacting Phil Ruston, I have sadly not had much luck
     contacting other Developers

   * The F1 Licenceware Titles have been available online for Download
at archive.org since 2015, which is over 10 years (as of 2025), and
the Original Game Developers have never sent takedown notices, the
F1LW Games Collection can still be obtained by visiting:

          https://archive.org/details/f1-licenceware-vol1
          https://archive.org/details/f1-collection

   * F1 Licenceware is no longer in operation, since Andy Kellett who took over
did not have any contact details for any of the Game Developers, so sadly
     F1 Licenceware was closed down

   * The Game Developers no longer Sell or make any money from these Games, and
have never issued takedown notices against archive.org

   * The copies on archive.org are not easy for the Novice to setup and use, and that
is the whole point of my Amiga Boing Games Collection, to create an easy-to-use
load 'n' play Games Collection what anyone can pick up, load up, and use without
having to setup the system in a specific way, find library files, font files,
system files and other files what some Games may require in order to play them

If any Game Developer who created any of these F1 Licenceware Titles wishes me to
stop distributing them, or even wants to give me thier blessing, Please get
in touch with me via amigaboing.net

   Many Thanks!

Hi Mark,
I dont have any issues with you distributing the original games for non-profit

Hi Andy,
There's a few adventure games I'd like to make freely available from
the days of F1 Licenceware, from '92-'96. I've sought out the authors and,
for the ones who have replied, have written permission to be able to freely
distribute (as they're still technically commercial and copyrighted, so
I can't make them available without permission). I'd like to put the games
up on a web page for free download for the ones I have permission for, with
the written permission on there to show the authors would like to make them
freely available - is this okay with you?

My ideal would be to get them up on the Aminet, so they're freely available
to all Amigans, but as the games all contain the F1 Licenceware logo screen
and a few copyright messages, I'm not sure the Aminet admin would be happy
having them on there, even with notes from the authors, which is a shame.

If you're happy with this, I can find out any criteria from them to see
if we can get them up on there.

Let me know, and I'll get things moving accordingly.

Thanks for the help,
Rich

I have no problems with you distributing the games of those authors who
have contacted you to give you permission to give the games away freely. If you
could give me a list of the games that you have on your list to give away
(with permission), that would be great =) When I took over the company,
there wasn't much of a contact list, and email wasn't big back at the time
so was never able to find any of these guys. It was another reason I closed
it down due to not being able to request updates from the authors.

As for the ones you haven't been able to find to get permission from, I
don't have a problem with you releasing them, though I would much prefer
it if you had permission from each one first.

If you have any other questions or queries, or need DMS files, let me know
=)

Kind Regards,

Andy
