Karate Master is a serious karate simulator. Written and compiled in AMOS
Professional, it has all the speed, variety of moves and excitement of the
real sport!

LOADING INSTRUCTIONS
--------------------
Load by double clicking on the KarateMaster icon.

ONE PLAYER
----------
Karate Master is a one or two player game using one or two joysticks. With
the computer opponent, you will find yourself up against an increasingly
difficult Karate Master ranging from easy to incredibly impossible. There
are 99 levels to treak through and 8 attractive locations to fight in. To
beat an opponent you must carry out hits to the value of 2.5 points, with
each move earning either 1 or .5 points. Should you both have equal points
when the timer runs out, the grand master judge will decide who is the
victor!

The computer opponent will gradually become more intelligent using blocks
and parries to fend you off. Each new karate master you meet will change
colour until you reach master level when you will fight against the
ultimate black Karate Master until you drop.

KATA
----
After every 2 levels you will be faced with executing the Master's Kata.
This is where you must watch him carry out a selection of moves and copy
them exactly. Each time you copy them correctly, he adds another... And
another... And another... (Remember 'Simon'?). Each time you carry out
the correct moves, you are rewarded in points per move.

TWO PLAYERS
-----------
Karate Master allows you to fight against a friend (or foe) which adds
greatly to the excitement of the game. The two player option is a fight
over 9 rounds, with random locations and selectable suit colours. When in
one player mode, pressing the fire button in port 0 will allow player 2 to
take over the computer opponent and the 9 rounds begin from there.

THE INTRO SCREEN
----------------
The intro screen appears when the game loads. There are 3 options
available to the user.

* F1 * starts a one player game with player 1's suit being white.
* F2 * starts a two player game with both players in white suits.
* F3 * takes the user to the options screen.

THE OPTIONS SCREEN
------------------
There are a number of available options on this screen as the following:

TIMER ON/OFF
Clicking on the TIMER ON/OFF icon will turn on or turn off the
timer. This means that the bouts will continue until 2.5 points
is reached by either player (also available in 1 player mode.)

SUIT COLOURS
By clicking on the arrows above each fighter, the user can select
which colour (from a palette of 9) to fight in. The fighter
changes colour as you click to show you basically what he will
	look like.
You may notice that you cannot change player 2's suit colour.
This is because when the option screen opens, it is in 1 player
mode. Basically this means that the suit colours for the computer
player are laid out for the game and cannot be changed.
You can change player 2's suit colour when in 2 player mode (see
	below).

1/2 PLAYERS
By clicking on the Amiga icon, you can change the mode from 1 to 2
players and vice versa. When in two player mode, two joysticks
are in view, and it is then that you can change player 2's suit
colour. Both the Timer on/off and player mode buttons are toggle
	switches.

FIGHT!
Self explanatory really, just click to begin fighting!

THE GAME ITSELF
---------------

With either coming from the options or opening screen, you begin to fight.
The players will take their positions and bow ready to begin battle.
Player 1 always starts on the left and player 2(or the cpu) starts on the
right.

SPEED
You can change the speed of the game to suit your fancy by pressing
the function keys F1-F10 when fighting. F1 is zippy mode through
to F10 which is slow mode. Dont expect to see anything coming in
zippy mode unless you have 2000 asa eyes!

THE MOVES
The moves possible facing right are as follows with the fire
	button off:

								 JUMP

				DOUBLE PUNCH	| SOMERSAULT
								 \ | /
								  \|/
WALK LEFT (Block)	-----	O-----	WALK RIGHT
								  /|\
								 / | \
SINGLE PUNCH	| LOW GUT PUNCH

								CROUCH

And with the fire button pressed:

							 FLYING KICK

HIGH BACK KICK | HIGH FACE KICK
								 \ | /
								  \|/
ROUNDHOUSE KICK -----	O ----- MID GUT KICK
								  /|\
								 / | \
JUMPING SPIN KICK LOW KNEE KICK

							  LEG SWEEP

Note that player 2's moves are an exact mirror copy of these and if you
turn to face the other direction, your moves are also mirrored.

Note that when walking away from your opponent (Left above), and he is
executing a move, you will automatically block that move.

Also, When facing away from your your opponent, executing a ROUNDHOUSE KICK
will in fact execute a low back kick.

And finally, to make your fighter turn to face the other direction, execute
a high back kick, and before the move is complete, release the joystick and
he will turn to face the other direction. (See if you can hit your
opponent in the head while doing this, it looks stunning!)
